Homestay.pro welcomes international applicants aged 18–35. Each application is carefully reviewed based on identity, purpose of participation, communication ability, and overall program suitability. As many Chinese host families value natural English communication, native English speakers may have greater matching opportunities. Please provide complete and accurate information when applying. All applicants are individually reviewed, and selection is based on program eligibility and host family compatibility.
Homestay.pro is a cultural exchange program, not a job or volunteer placement. We welcome participants who are genuinely interested in experiencing Chinese culture and everyday family life. admin@homestay.proParticipants are encouraged to spend approximately 2–3 hours a day sharing meals, conversations, and daily activities with their host family. A genuine commitment to cultural exchange may strengthen your application and matching opportunities.
No. You do not need to speak Chinese before joining the program. Many participants arrive with little or no Chinese language experience. Your host family, translation apps, and everyday interaction will help you communicate and gradually build confidence.
Yes. Every host family completes an application and screening process before joining the program. Our team also provides ongoing support throughout your stay to help ensure a safe, respectful, and positive cultural exchange experience.
Host families make the final decision when selecting participants. During your application, you can share your interests, lifestyle, language ability, and preferences. Homestay.pro will recommend suitable participants to host families, and the host family will make the final hosting decision.
Most applicants will be asked to provide a valid passport, a recent profile photo, basic personal information, a personal introduction, emergency contact information, a Police Clearance Certificate, medical examination report and insurance certificate. Depending on your country of residence or specific program requirements, additional documents may be requested during the application process.
Please let us know during your application. Whether you have food allergies, dietary restrictions, religious requirements, or follow a vegetarian diet, we will do our best to match you with a host family that can accommodate your needs.
No extra fees apply. After successful homestay matching, your accommodation, meals and cultural activities are fully free. A one‑off 99‑RMB application fee covers airport transfer and a local SIM card, with zero hidden costs.
Yes. Host families are expected to provide participants with a private room and appropriate personal space throughout the homestay. Your comfort and privacy are an important part of the Homestay.pro experience.
Yes. You are free to explore, travel, and manage your personal time independently. We simply encourage clear communication with your host family and respect for agreed household routines. Homestay.pro is a cultural exchange program — not a restricted schedule.
Family applications are permitted, and we will run a targeted matching. The majority of our host families are designed for solo foreign applicants. We will match you with a qualified host household that can accommodate your entire family.
